Soapbox Derby Challenge:

This team building activity involves constructing and racing custom soapbox vehicles. Think DIY engineering meets friendly competition.

Part 1: Construction Phase

• Objective: Teams will assemble a gravity-powered vehicle from provided materials: planks, wheels, PVC, and other components.
• Process: Participants will collaborate to design and build their vehicles, utilizing provided tools.
• Expected Outcome: Functional (or semi-functional) soapbox vehicles reflecting each team’s design.

Part 2: Racing Event

• Objective: Teams will race their constructed vehicles down a designated track.
• Process: Vehicles will be propelled by gravity. Teams will attempt to complete the course within regulation.
• Performance: Vehicle stability and speed will be measured. Penalties may be applied for rule infractions, such as using motorized assistance or losing vehicle components.
• Evaluation: The fastest, most stable, and well constructed vehicle will be considered the winning vehicle.
