Team Graffiti Art Activity.

About this activity

Overall Goal: To collaboratively create a large graffiti piece while also allowing each participant to express their individual style on a smaller scale.

Activity Breakdown:

• Icebreaker: “Spray Can Story”:
  • Have each participant briefly share what word or idea comes to mind when they think of graffiti. No pressure to be an artist – just a quick association. This helps get everyone thinking creatively.
• Collaborative Brainstorm:
  • Following the basics and techniques explanation, facilitate a group brainstorm for the large silver graffiti piece.
  • Task: The team needs to decide on a single word or short slogan that represents the group or the occasion (if applicable).
  • Encourage everyone to contribute ideas. You can write suggestions on a whiteboard or flip chart.
  • Guide the team to consider:
    • Visual appeal of the letters.
    • The meaning or message of the word/slogan.
    • How it might look in a large, silver format with a colorful background.

• Large Collaborative Piece :
  • The team, guided by the coaches, will now work together to create the large silver graffiti with the chosen word/slogan and colorful background.
  • Encourage participants to take turns and apply the techniques they learned.
  • The coaches will facilitate the process, ensuring everyone gets a chance to contribute.
• Individual Paper Piece Design & Creation:
  • While the large piece is in progress or as a parallel activity, each participant will start working on their individual 30×40 cm paper artwork.
  • Task: Participants can create anything they like on their paper – their own tag, a mini version of the team slogan, an abstract design using stencils, etc.
  • This allows for individual creative expression alongside the collaborative effort.
  • Provide extra stencils, different coloured markers (if appropriate for paper), and encourage them to experiment with the techniques shown.

• Completion of Individual Pieces: Allow participants to finish their paper artworks.
• Group Photo: Proceed with the drone photo of the large collaborative piece.
• Show & Tell : If time permits, each participant can briefly share their individual paper artwork with the group. This adds a nice personal touch to the finale.

Small Extra: Each participant takes home their 30×40 cm work of art.
