This interactive 90-minute workshop seamlessly blends sustainability, creativity, and teamwork. You’ll upcycle recycled materials and thrifted finds into jaw-dropping costumes. With a sprinkle of haberdashery magic and a whole lot of fun, teams will design and create show-stopping outfits—all leading up to a fabulous fashion show showdown!

How It Works

Here’s a step-by-step guide to your team’s fashion journey:

• Step 1: The Grand Design Brief Each team receives an exciting challenge: create a bold, runway-ready costume. This involves using a mix of pre-loved clothing, recycled materials, and surprise haberdashery finds. Think newspaper couture, denim reinventions, and unexpected textile twists!

• Step 2: Raid the Recycle Racks Next, you’ll gain access to an inspiring stash of thrifted treasures, fabric scraps, and unconventional materials. Everything from old curtains to bubble wrap is fair game! It’s time to truly think outside the (recycling) box.

• Step 3: Stitch, Pin, Tape & Create! With limited time on the clock, your team must design, construct, and style your masterpiece. Collaboration is absolutely key here—who’s the visionary? The master cutter? The detail perfectionist? Work together and bring your costume to life!

• Step 4: The Runway Showdown Finally, it’s time to strut your stuff! Each team will present their creation in a high-energy fashion show. This includes music, a bit of drama, and, of course, fierce poses. The judges (or the audience!) will vote for the Best Repurposed Runway Look—so go all out!
